Pets and the outdoors

A chemical-free garden is a wonderful place for you and your pet to visit together. Many people love their dogs and cats and want them to enjoy their yards and gardens. Pets can enjoy and benefit from fresh air and exercise in a pet-friendly yard and garden.

It’s better for your plants and animals if you use an organic fertilizer. Many organic fertilizers, like bone meal, smell like dinner to your pets and should be kept in secure containers. No matter what kind of pest control and fertilizer you use, it’s important to keep your pets out of the garden at least 24 hours after application. Another consideration is runoff from your neighbor’s yards and gardens. Do you know what kind of chemicals they use?
