Red, White, and Blue Exhibit

May 4, 2016 @ 10:00 am - May 28, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

Free

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

And, if you’re a member of the Hanover Area Arts Guild, that means art.

The Arts Guild will showcase its Red, White, and Blue this May with a display of paintings, sculpture and fabric arts, sure to express patriotism, but with a creative twist, explained Rebecca Yates Shorb, a member of the Board of Directors.

The exhibit will be on display in the Arts Guild’s Art Downtown gallery, 32 Carlisle St., in historic downtown Hanover.

“When you have an artist doing something creative, you can expect an imaginative interpretation,” Shorb said of the patriotic theme. She’s excited, she added, “to see what they feel from red, white, and blue.”

The artists were given no specific directions, just the theme. Shorb said she expects it to be interpreted in many different ways.

The show will be debut May 2 and can be seen during regular gallery hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. The Art Downtown gallery is free and open to the public. All of the artwork is for sale throughout the month of May.
