Art Downtown, the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s gallery, present photos by member James Giffen. A reception is planned 5-8:30 p.m. June 18 as part of the celebration. Two regional bands, Lavacave of Lancaster and the Moonlight Mutts of Harrisburg, will perform. Both have been photographed by Giffen. He also will exhibit landscapes and abstractions at Art Downtown, which is always free and open to the public. All of the art is for sale.
The gallery, just off the Square in historic Hanover, features work from artists who live in Hanover, Adams County and northern Maryland. They are photographers and painters; they create three-dimensional art and use found art as their inspiration; and gourds and yarn are their mediums.
Almost 200 members belong to the Arts Guild, which is approaching its 50th birthday.
Art Downtown is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 am.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
